Notice of Privacy

In accordance with the provisions of the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, the Mexican Association of Neuroethics (AMNE) provides the following notice of privacy:

The Mexican Association of Neuroethics (AMNE) is responsible for the use and protection of your personal data; in this sense and in compliance with the legal obligations established by the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, this instrument is the means by which the data subjects are informed on what information is collected from them and for what purposes.

The Mexican Association of Neuroethics (AMNE) finds its address at: Av. Jorge Jiménez Cantú S/N. Hacienda de Vallescondido. Atizapán de Zaragoza 52938, Estado de México, Mexico.

The personal data we collect from you will be used for the following purposes, all of which are necessary to establish our relationship with you as well as to meet the services and/or orders you request:

  • Integrating AMNE’s membership database,
  • Keeping track of payments made to AMNE,
  • Inviting attendees and lecturers to academic events organized by AMNE, and
  • Organizing academic-collaboration networks.

In order to attain the purposes described in this notice of privacy, we will utilize the following personal data: name, training and academic degree, general institutional or work data, telephone and email. Data of bank transfers and deposits will also be used for income control regarding the payment of memberships or attendance to events with fees.

On the other hand, we inform you that your personal data will not be shared with any authority, company, organization or person other than us and will be used exclusively for the aforementioned purposes.

You have, at any time, the right to know what personal data we have about you, what we use them for and the conditions of use that we give them (Access). It is also your right to request the correction of your personal information in case it is outdated, inaccurate or incomplete (Rectification). You additionally possess the right to have your information removed from our records or databases when you consider that it is not being used properly (Cancellation). Finally, it is your right to stand against the use of your personal data for specific purposes (Opposition). These rights are known collectively as ARCO rights.

If you wish to exercise any of your ARCO rights, you must submit the respective request to following email(s): administrador@neuroeticamexico.org and/or aandreoni@neuroeticamexico.org

This will also serve as the means to know the procedure and requirements for exercising ARCO rights; however, the request to exercise said rights must contain the following information: name and reason for the request.

The reply to the request will be given within 5 business days, and it will be communicated through the email stated in the request.

It is worth mentioning that you can revoke your consent for the use of your personal data at any time. In the same way, you can revoke the consent that, where appropriate, you have given us for the treatment of your personal data. However, it is important that you keep in mind that we will not always be able to immediately fulfill your request or terminate the use since it is possible that, due to a certain legal obligation, we may be required to continue treating your personal data. You should also consider that, for certain purposes, the revocation of your consent would imply that we cannot continue to provide the service you requested or that your relationship with us will cease.

To revoke the consent that you grant in this act or to limit its disclosure, the respective request must be submitted through the following email: administrador@neuroeticamexico.org and/or aandreoni@neuroeticamexico.org

In the same way, you may request information to know the procedure and requirements for the revocation of consent as well as to limit the use and disclosure of your personal information. Nevertheless, these requests must contain the following information: name and reason for the request. The response to the request for revocation or limitation of disclosure of your data will be given within 5 business days, and it will be communicated through the email stated in the formulated request.

This notice of privacy may be modified, changed or updated due to new legal requirements, our own needs for the products or services we offer, our privacy practices and changes in our business model, among other reasons. Because of this, we promise to keep you informed about the changes that this notice of privacy may suffer. That being said, you can request information on whether it has undergone any changes through the following email:
